Integrated weed management
Integrated weed management involves a judicious combination of all feasible means of weed control to minimise weed competition and its deleterious effect on the yield. Adopting optimum agronomic practices for the rapid growth of potato plants, including crops in rotation which suppress the weeds, summer cultivation and combination of cultural and chemical methods of weed control are some of the practices which can be combined to reduce the weed infestation in potato crop. Clean cultivation, keeping bunds, channels etc. free from weeds and destroying weeds before planting produce best results.
