TPS can be used in following three ways to grow the commercial potato crop.
The direct seeding of TPS to grow commercial potato crop in the field has not been practically feasible due to the uneven and low percentage of germination, heavy weed problems, slow growth of the plants etc leading to poor yield. However, potato cultivation through transplanting seedlings and by planting first generation seedling tubers has been achieved successfully. Raising seedling either for transplanting or for producing seedling tubers a nursery has to be raised.
