Roles & Responsibilities

The DDG (Hort.) is the controlling officer of the Project and The Project Coordinator is the CEO of the project. The role of the PC is to coordinate with the Director and Heads of Divisions of CPRI as well as Director Research and Scientists Incharge of AICRP centers of SAUS to develop sound technical programme addressing the major issues in potato research and development. He develops a draft technical programme based on the above and organizes the Group Meeting to discuss and finalize the technical Programme. He further oversees the execution of the Technical programme. He also compiles the results of trials conducted and prepares the draft recommendations for deliberations and finalization at the Group meeting.

PIs: The Heads of Divisions of CPRI are normally the PIs of the projects. However, any scientist of CPRI or AICRP centre can also be nominated as PI of a particular project. The role of the PIs is to finalize the Technical Programme and also compile the results over the years/locations and bring out recommendations.

Monitoring Team: For effective monitoring of the trials at different AICRP centers, a monitoring team is normally constituted which visits the centers and gives its report to the PC on the experiments conducted, the stand of the crop, quality of the experiment, timelines of operations etc. However constitution of the monitoring team is not mendatory.
